Tomamu's sea of clouds and a village of forests
Kamikawa region · Lavender, patchwork hills and the roof of Hokkaido.
Home of Tomamu: cloud-sea terraces at dawn, an ice village in winter, and some of the most reliable tree-run skiing on the island.
Shimukappu is a village of mountains and forest on the Sekisho Line between the Furano valley and the Hidaka hills, and almost everyone who comes is heading for Tomamu. Beyond the resort, the village has a gorge of red rock on the Mukawa River, a small hot spring and wide forests that were logging country for a century.
